Cold weather has prompted the governor of Utah to declare a propane emergency in his state.
The reason? Federal regulations.
The order, signed by Governor Spencer Cox, suspends certain federal regulations state officials say are preventing Utah resident from receiving the much-needed propane amid freezing temps.
Federal regulations limit the number of hours drivers can work who deliver the gas. The order, signed Tuesday suspends these regulations.
The Governor also cited road closures from snowy conditions as a contributing factor to the shortage.
