Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) stated that it needs to be someone in the model of Justice Breyer, “Someone who will write stirring, compelling, lasting arguments, hopefully in the majority at some point, but probably in the coming few years in the dissent,” Mr. Coons said. “But someone who is persuasive.”

The list of possible nominees from Biden to fill the vacancy has been reported as District of Columbia Court of Appeals Judge Kentaji Brown Jackson, 51, California Supreme Court Justice Leondra Kruger, 45, South Carolina Federal Judge Juliana Michelle Childs, 55, Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Candace Rae Jackson-Akiwumi, and New York Federal Appeals Court in New York Judge Eunice Cheryl Lee.

The four Biden is considering likely come from this list of 5, and the White House has revealed Vice President Kamala Harris will advise on the nomination.
