The battle for documents from the Trump organization has been going on for two years now and on Monday the AG secured a victory over the Trumps The Wall Street Journal reported.
A New York judge ruled that the organization must hand over documents to New York Attorney General Letitia James. State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron wrote that “I hope we are winding down this whole investigation.”
The Trump Organization must now comply with the AG’s subpoenas by the 15th of April and be in full compliance two weeks after that.
The AG is investigating whether Donald Trump fraudulently manipulated his business assets in order to avoid taxes and obtain loans from financial institutions.
The organization has turned over 10 documents but as Trump’s lawyers pointed out the investigation continues to grow and expand making compliance difficult.
