DeSantis Breaks Fundraising Record, New Poll Gives Democrats Alarming News

Republicans have some good news as the 2022 midterms approach.

First, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has broken the gubernatorial fundraising record, Open Secrets reports.

Second, a new poll gives alarming news to Democrats as the number one issue for voters, the economy, is one that they trust Republicans the most to fix, The Daily Caller reports.

The DeSantis team has reportedly raised $177.4 million through September 9 which breaks the gubernatorial fundraising record without adjusting for inflation.

The DeSantis campaign raised $31.4 million while the Friends of Ron DeSantis PAC, which is not subject to contribution limits raised another $146 million since January of 2019.

DeSantis who was elected to 3 terms in the United States House of Representatives by Floridians has seen his governorship defined by culure war clashes with Democrats.

DeSantis recently sent 2 plans of illegal immigrants to the liberal enclave of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. The move sparked outrage from a media that has ignored the Biden administration sending planeloads of immigrant throughout the country.

In more good news a new poll revealed that voters overwhelmingly trust Republicans to manage the economy.

Roughly 52% of voters said that they trust Republicans to manage the economy, compared to 38% for Democrats, while only 1% of respondents said they agreed with the proposals of both parties to manage it, according to a poll conducted by the Times and Siena College, which measured the relative strength of both parties in advance of the election scheduled on Nov. 8. The economy has been the most important issue to voters heading into the polls; in a July edition of the same NYT/Siena poll, 20% called it the “most important problem facing the country today,” while roughly 76% said that it would be “extremely important” to them as they vote.

Even more concerning for Democrats is that 20% of voters see the economy as the most important issue while 76% see it as “extremely important.”

This should sound alarm bells for a Democrat party that has focused campaign narratives on social issues like abortion and gun regulations.

The news comes as President Joe Biden celebrated his “Inflation Reduction Act” during a period where the country say reports that inflation rose between July and August and the Dow Jones Industrial Average take a dive not seen since early 2020.
