CNN anchor Jim Sciutto was mysteriously removed from the air recently after reports surfaced that he was the subject of an internal probe over “conduct that occurred earlier this year.”
CNN’s Oliver Darcy recently reported that Sciutto will be returning to the air in “a few weeks,” Mediaite reveals.
The official word is that Sciutto took a leave of absence for “personal reasons.”
As for the reason Sciutto had to be investigated it appears he had too much fun in Amsterdam.
According to The Daily Beast:
[Sciutto] was the subject of a CNN internal investigation earlier this year, Confider has learned, after he had a serious fall in Amsterdam enroute home from a reporting trip to the Ukraine. Despite colleagues taking direct flights home from Poland, Sciutto and his producer made a stopover in the Dutch capital where the accident occurred. We hear Sciutto has since recovered from the incident but has been directed by CNN to address a “personal situation.”
Sciutto is the co-anchor of “CNN Newsroom” during the weekday’s from 9-11 am with co-host Poppy Harlow.
Sciutto was removed from the air after appearing Monday.
