In a text to his producer on the night of Jan. 6, 2021, Fox News personality Tucker Carlson reportedly described to then-President Donald Trump as “a demonic power” after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol that day.
It was one of several discoveries in a document filed by Dominion Voting Systems, which is suing Fox News for slander and seeking $1.6 billion in damages.
The lawsuit centers on assertions made by Fox News presenters and guests immediately after the 2020 presidential election.
In the wake of the January 6th Captiol Riot it appears Carlson exchanged text messages with one of his producers during which he had extremely harsh words for then President Trump.
Carlson called Trump “a demonic force, a destroyer.” then said that “But he’s not going to destroy us.”
In another exchange right in the wake of the 2020 election Carlson said of Trump: “What [Trump]’s good at is destroying things. He’s the undisputed world champion of that. He could easily destroy us if we play it wrong.”
In spite of the comments, where were sent in private, Carlson has continued to be ostensibly pro-Trump in public and on his extremely popular nightly show on Fox News.
