House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) reportedly said that he is “concerned” about a federal document Hunter Biden gave Burisma officials that might have come from the troves of sensitive material mismanaged by President Joe Biden.
During an interview with Maria Bartiromo of Fox Business, Comer voiced his worries about the possibility that Joe Biden’s improper handling of secret material is tied to the influence peddling conducted by the Biden family.
“There is one document in particular that I can tell you from my investigation of Biden family influence peddling that we are very concerned about with respect to the document that Hunter Biden sent to officials at Burisma in Ukraine,” Comer said.
“It was a government document. We are concerned that it may have been one of the classified documents,” he continued.
Special Counsel Robert Hur has opened an inquiry into former Vice President Joe Biden in connection with sensitive materials that were discovered in his house in Wilmington, Delaware, as well as in his office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, District of Columbia.
In 2017, Hunter’s position on the board of directors of Burisma earned him a monthly salary of $83,000.
In 2014, despite having no prior expertise in the energy sector or in Ukraine, he was named to the board of directors of Burisma.
In 2015, Joe Biden issued a threat to withhold $1 billion in aid from Ukraine if the government of Ukraine did not dismiss the prosecutor who was investigating the fraud scheme known as “Burisma.”
As a result of Joseph Biden’s departure from the White House in 2017 as Vice President, Hunter’s pay was slashed in half, despite the fact that Biden had traveled to Ukraine six times during the previous seven years.
CBS News was the recipient of a secret document scandal involving Joe Biden on January 9, some weeks after Biden’s personal attorneys discovered the original cache of documents on November 2.
It is currently unknown when the investigation into Biden’s classified document scandal will be concluded.
