The day after CNN welcomed the former president for a town hall in New Hampshire on Wednesday, Donald Trump reportedly showered the network with accolades.
Trump detractors criticized the network, claiming that it was reckless to give him a platform given his previous behavior and propensity for lying.
Trump made his first appearance on CNN in a long time, and it was also the first town hall of his 2024 campaign for president.
He answered questions from Republicans, Republican-leaning voters, and moderator Kaitlan Collins for 70 minutes. Despite her best efforts to fact-check him, she was repeatedly outdone in this onerous if not impossible endeavor.
The former president asserted later that his answers to queries “changed many minds.”
“People are criticizing CNN for giving me a Forum to tell the TRUTH. I believe it was a very smart thing that they did, with Sky High Ratings that they haven’t seen in a very long time. It was by far the biggest Show of the night, the week, and the month!” Trump wrote on his Truth social platform.
“The Radical Left screamed, ‘Take it down, take it down,’ during the Show, because they saw that I was making so many important points on the Border, Energy Independence, the Afghanistan Catastrophe, Inflation, the Economy, Russia/Ukraine, and so much more. Many minds were changed on Wednesday night by listening to Common Sense, and sheer ‘Brilliance.’” Trump continued.
The town hall was the most viewed cable news show with 3.1 million viewers tuning in.
