A top official with the New York State Communist Party has now been reportedly revealed to have worked for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez until relatively recently.
The progressive politician from New York’s 14th congressional district hired Justine Medina, an ex-aide, to work as a political organizer in 2020 between February and November.
According to Federal Election Commission records, Medina, 33, worked as a political organizer for “The Squad” leader in 2020 for a full year, receiving more than $35,000 from February to November of that year.
After the election, Medina started working as a full-fledged Marxist almost immediately.
She was listed as the “Executive Committee of the New York State Communist Party,” by the far-left newspaper People’s World.
Medina’s radical ideology was evident in her social media posts both before and after she started working for Rep. Ocasio-Cortez.
“Communism is about equality, democracy, peace, the advancement of workers, the oppressed, and humanity in general. It is true the path there will be unkind to those who block progress, but Communism is good and should not scare you…” she wrote in a 2020 tweet
AOC follows Medina on Twitter, and the two have previously smiled for pictures.
Additionally, Medina has a protracted history of arrests. She was arrested at least twice in the city’s Black Lives Matter protests in June 2020.
