Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) will reportedly be one of the featured speakers at No Labels’ first town hall meeting. No Labels is a centrist political organization that has hinted at a potential alternative for voters in the 2024 election.
Monday night, just one day after the organization is scheduled to reveal its “Common Sense” policy platform for the 2024 cycle, Manchin will make an appearance alongside former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire.
Manchin’s presence comes as the West Virginia senator has frequently told reporters that he hasn’t decided whether to run for reelection or pursue higher office for the next year.
The organization has referred to these initiatives as a “insurance policy” for the 2024 presidential election, promising to withdraw from the race if any party is successful in fielding a candidate who can win over moderate voters.
The group stated its specific goal is to provide voters who don’t want President Joe Biden or Former President Donald Trump to win the White House an alternative.
No Labels has referenced internal polling it conducted that demonstrates the resounding support for a third-party ticket that might really win the White House.
But the organization pledged to withdraw if Trump wasn’t chosen as the Republican nominee.
