Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Democrat running for president, reportedly asserted that President Biden’s call for soldiers to help Operation Atlantic Resolve is a precursor to a “ground war with Russia.”
Kennedy responded to Biden’s choice to mobilize tens of thousands of military reserve personnel to support American forces in Europe as part of the 2014 mission.
“President Biden just called up 3,000 reservists to augment U.S. troops in Europe as part of ‘Operation Atlantic Resolve,'” Kennedy noted in a tweet.
“I want people to understand what this troop mobilization is about. It’s about preparing for a ground war with Russia.” Kennedy continued.
3,000 reserve soldiers from the Selected and Individual Ready Reserves, with a maximum of 450 from the Individual Ready Reserve, are being called up by the president.
Biden’s military expansion occurs while the president is away attending the NATO summit.
