Rep. Eric Swalwell of California, a Democrat, and Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy reportedly had a heated argument on June 22. McCarthy allegedly threatened to kick Swalwell in the ass after Swalwell called her a pussy.
According to reports, the argument started during the vote to expel California Democratic Representative Adam Schiff. Schiff’s removal from the U.S. House of Representatives was proposed by Republican Anna Paulina Luna of Florida. The election was held on June 21.
Swalwell reportedly began the exchange by telling McCarthy that “This is pathetic, You’re weak. You’re a weak man.” while he was presiding over the House of Representatives.
The next day, Swalwell was reportedly walking to the bathroom outside the chamber before Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s joint address to congress.
After McCarthy spotted him, the House Speaker reportedly told Swalwell that “If you ever say something like that to me again, I’m gonna kick the shit out of you.”
“Call me a pussy again, and I’ll kick your ass,” McCarthy also allegedly as the two were reportedly almost face to face in the hallway.
The two avoided a brawl, although it was said that things were extraordinarily tense between them.
