After authorities discovered his wife dead inside their house late on Thursday, an Orange County Superior Court judge was reportedly detained on suspicion of murder.
Police in Anaheim, California, pushed their way into the house of 72-year-old Jeffrey Ferguson without difficulty and discovered that Sheryl Ferguson, 65, had been shot at least once.
Officers arrived at the Anaheim Hills residence and found Ferguson’s wife deceased; Ferguson was then taken into custody. He was arrested and held on a $1 million bond at an Orange County prison.
The Times was informed by law enforcement sources that the couple’s kid was present at home during the incident. Police questioned the son, who is in his 20s, following the shooting, according to KTLA.
The Fergusons had resided there for more than 20 years, a neighbor of theirs reportedly informed a news organization.
According to his biography, Ferguson started his career as an Orange County Deputy District Attorney in 1983 and was elected to the Superior Court of Orange County in June 2014.
Ferguson was appointed to the Major Narcotics Enforcement Team and elevated to Senior Deputy District Attorney ten years after he began his career.
Before spending 20 years at the American Funds Service Co., Ferguson’s wife Sheryl worked for the Santa Barbara and Orange County Probation Departments.
