Jayson Boebert, the ex-husband of Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO), was arrested this week on multiple offenses related to two distinct incidents.
On Tuesday, Colorado law enforcement officials apprehended Jayson Boebert on six criminal offenses, which included harassment, obstruction of a police officer, obstructing a peace officer, disorderly conduct, and third-degree assault.
The initial set of accusations, according to USA Today, originated from a weekend occurrence at a restaurant in Lauren Boebert’s district, where Jayson Boebert allegedly reported to police that she had struck him.
“Although he claimed he had been punched in the face, officers observed no marks or injury on Jayson Boebert to corroborate he had actually been assaulted. Staff at Miner’s Claim restaurant requested Jayson leave the restaurant due to the level of disturbance he was creating. Officers requested Jayson Boebert to leave the restaurant multiple times; however, he was uncooperative and was physically removed from the restaurant by law enforcement personnel.” a police statement read.
Wednesday, following an investigation, the authorities declared that no evidence existed that Lauren Boebert had assaulted her ex-husband.
According to the police, he subsequently recanted any allegations of domestic violence against his ex-wife.
As a result of the incident, he was charged with third-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
The remaining charges against him originated from an unrelated incident that transpired on Tuesday.
In that call, made by Tyler Boebert, the eldest son of the former couple, who reported to a dispatcher that his father had physically assaulted him.
