Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) is scheduled to deliver a speech at a campaign event in New Hampshire on Sunday on behalf of former President Trump, mere days prior to the state’s primary election.
The rally in Keene, New Hampshire will feature Gaetz, an ardent supporter of the former president, according to an announcement by Trump’s campaign.
On Monday, the former president, who was regarded as the leading Republican candidate, won the Iowa caucuses by a significant margin, surpassing his opponents by double digits.
Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, won one of the 99 counties but finished in third place, trailing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
His near-sweep in the Iowa serves as renewed evidence of Trump’s dominance within the Republican Party.
As Haley continues to acquire momentum in the state and only days remain until the second voting contest of the year, the former president is attempting to maintain the lead.
Gaetz once remarked that DeSantis would be an excellent Republican candidate in 2024, but only if Trump were absent.
During the spring, he also proposed a ticket between the former president and governor, a prospect he expressed significant excitement for.
