Former President Donald Trump attacked Judge Lewis Kaplan, who is overseeing the second defamation trial in light of E Jean Carroll’s sexual assault conviction, in his initial social media remarks after he abruptly stormed out of the courthouse during his defamation trial.
At approximately 10:00 AM, word spread that Trump stormed out of the courtroom. Trump vented his ire on social media just 90 minutes later against Carroll and the judge involved in the case.
“Judge Kaplan refuses to allow the Anderson Cooper Interview on CNN of E. Jean Carroll wherein Carroll says, “Rape is sexy,” and numerous other things that totally exonerate me. Judge Kaplan is refusing me my Constitutional Right to Due Process, to defend myself against this False Accusation. This is a one-sided trial, where the other side is allowed everything, and we are allowed nothing. He is an extremely abusive individual, the likes of which few have seen before!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
Throughout the proceedings on Friday, the judge reprimanded Alina Habba, the attorney for Trump, for attempting to introduce transparencies into the court without having previously submitted them as evidence.
