An inquiry has been initiated following the detonation of an explosive device outside the office of Alabama Republican Attorney General Steve Marshall early Saturday morning.
Marshall stated on Monday that there were no injuries from the explosion and Alabama authorities will be conducting a further investigation into the incident.
No motives have been provided and no suspects have been identified by state authorities.
According to reports, the explosion occurred at the junction of Washington Avenue and South Bainbridge Street in Montgomery.
After receiving reports of a suspicious package, authorities arrived at the scene.
According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sgt. Jeremy Burkett, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation was notified of the incident at approximately 8:19 a.m. on Saturday morning. Burkett mentioned that there were no damages caused by the explosion.
