Former President Donald Trump reiterated his demand for Liz Cheney to be imprisoned, following her strong response on social media.
The comment was made as Trump shared an article about the committee, accusing them of not making testimony public from a Secret Service driver and withholding crucial evidence.
The driver, who remains unidentified, challenged the version of events presented by former White House staffer Cassidy Hutchinson. Hutchinson alleged that on January 6th, while returning to the White House, Trump attempted to seize control of the steering wheel of the limousine in an attempt to redirect it towards the Capitol.
There has been criticism from some individuals on the Right regarding the committee’s decision to keep the testimony confidential throughout its investigation.
“She should go to Jail along with the rest of the Unselect Committee!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
Cheney addressed Trump’s demand for her imprisonment in a post on X.
“Hi Donald: you know these are lies. You have had all the grand jury & J6 transcripts for many months. You’re trying to halt your 1/6 trial because your VP, WH counsel, WH aides, campaign & DOJ officials etc will testify against you. You’re afraid of the truth and you should be.” Cheney wrote.
