Joy Reid of MSNBC was jubilant after observing that Black officials are pressing charges against Donald Trump.
Reid invoked the concept of DEI, an acronym for diversity, equality, and inclusion, while commemorating Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s historic prosecution of Trump.
The ex-president is presently undergoing a trial, confronting over 30 charges related to a payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in order to conceal an alleged extramarital relationship.
Bragg is accusing Trump of fabricating business records. Trump has refuted these allegations and denied any involvement in the incident.
“For me, there is something wonderfully poetic about the fact that … the first person to criminally prosecute Donald Trump is a black Harvard grad,” Reid crowed in response to the news.
“DEIs are bringing it home” she said triumphantly.
“And a black woman is doing the same exact thing in Georgia. And a black woman forced you to pay a $175 million dollar fine,” Reid continued.
“Donald Trump is being held to account by the very multicultural, multiracial democracy that he’s trying to dismantle and for me there’s something poetic and actually wonderful about that. It says something good about our country that we’re still capable of having that happen. Go DEI. My DEIs are bringing it home.” she concluded.
Subsequently, she enlisted the participation of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in Georgia.
Trump is currently being charged with election racketeering in that state for his involvement in attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
