Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is now apparently showing a significant lack of interest in whether her own party holds the gavel in the House of Representatives or not.
Another Republican, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), has asked the House to vote on whether to remove Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). This means that the matter could be put to a vote soon.
Greene doesn’t like how Johnson has been running the House these past few weeks, as he has gotten several short-term funding deals and foreign aid packages passed with help from Democrats.
The leaders of the Democrats have said they will back Johnson in any effort to get rid of him as speaker.
Manu Raju of CNN talked to politicians on Capitol Hill on Tuesday to find out what was going on. Boebert was one of them.
She said it didn’t matter to her whether Johnson is speaker or Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) becomes speaker.
“We are passing the Democrat agenda each and every day that we’re here. We have a slim majority in the House and… everything’s being passed overwhelmingly with Democrat support. So, it makes no difference to me if it’s Hakeem Jeffries as speaker or Mike Johnson right now.” Boebert remarked.
