Greg Gutfeld, a host on Fox News, stated that he hoped Donald Trump would be imprisoned because it will “guarantee” the former president’s victory in the November election.
Trump, who pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments in order to obscure extramarital affairs prior to the 2016 election, is currently on trial in Manhattan.
Additionally, he faces criminal indictment in three additional jurisdictions.
Judge Juan Merchan ruled on Monday that Trump was in contempt of court for the tenth time since violating a prohibition order.
This order is intended to halt Trump’s attacks on the case’s witnesses and jurors. Merchan cautioned Trump that if he violates the order once more, he could be sentenced to prison.
The prosecution of the cases against Trump, according to Trump and Republicans, is politically motivated and intended to aid President Joe Biden’s reelection.
“I hope they do arrest Trump. I hope they put him in jail because that does guarantee that he wins. Please, please, please. This is becoming the greatest third act of any political story.” Gutfeld said.
“He comes out of the gate like a bronco ready to just roar,” he went on. “And it’s working. I mean, man, it’s like he’s up. Keep it going.” he continued.
