A lead investigator announced on Sunday that House Republicans are preparing to publish a report that will provide a comprehensive account of the offenses that were discovered during the impeachment investigation against President Joe Biden, which is centered on corruption.
In response to a question from “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo regarding whether there would be any criminal referral for money laundering against the president, Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) made the announcement during an interview on Fox News.
“I think that it’s no secret Joe Biden’s committed many crimes, and I think that you’re going to see a report very soon. That report is imminent. That will probably be an interim report that updates everyone on the crimes that Biden and his administration have committed throughout this investigation and through the years of the Obama-Biden administration.” Comer said.
This decision was made after congressional investigators recommended that the president’s son Hunter Biden and brother James Biden be prosecuted for allegedly lying to Congress.
Concerns regarding potential influence-peddling schemes involving Joe Biden, which date back to his tenure as vice president, have been sparked by the millions of dollars earned by Biden family members and their companies.
In a letter sent last week to Attorney General Merrick Garland and special counsel David Weiss, Comer and his colleagues suggested that Hunter Biden and James Biden be charged with making deceptive statements, and that Hunter Biden also be charged with perjury over his testimony for the inquiry.
There are currently two criminal cases against Hunter Biden that are being prosecuted by Weiss and have the potential to lead to imprisonment.
The first son has entered a plea of not guilty to tax charges in California and firearms charges in Delaware.
His gun-related trial commenced last week, while the tax trial in California is scheduled to commence in September.
