President Joe Biden erroneously claimed during a CNN debate against former President Donald Trump on Thursday that no US servicemen had died under his leadership.
“Truth is, I’m the only president this century that doesn’t have any — this, this decade — that doesn’t have any troops dying anywhere in the world,” Biden said.
Biden was criticized on social media for the falsehood, with numerous individuals pointing out that the statement fails to acknowledge the fact that 13 U.S. service members were slain in a suicide bombing attack on the Kabul airport during the 2021 U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Biden’s false statement came as observers of all political persuasions blasted the president for his disastrous debate performance, a performance which has caused many to call for him to be replaced as the likely Democrat nominee.
