Hunter Biden, the son of former president Joe Biden, has been attending official White House meetings with his father this week. The 81-year-old is trying to hold onto his position as the party’s presidential contender this autumn, despite calls for him to resign.
According to NBC News, after coming back to the White House after the debate, Hunter Biden has attended meetings with his father and other government officials. He is currently interacting with these individuals.
Hunter Biden’s attendance at the sessions shocked administration insiders, who described it as extremely rare.
A senior administration official contacted by NBC news claimed that the reaction within the White House to the news was “What the hell is happening?”
Hunter Biden, who had an affair with his deceased brother’s wife and fathered a child while doing so, was found guilty last month of many felonies involving firearms and is now facing more criminal charges pertaining to his taxes.
It is unclear whether or not Hunter has officially been granted a security clearance in order to attend the meetings.
