After a much-awaited interview with President Biden last week, which was prompted by the latter’s dismal performance in the debate, ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos expressed his belief that the president cannot serve for a another four years.
“I don’t think he can serve four more years,” Stephanopoulos said during a secretly recorded encounter on the street.
“Earlier today I responded to a question from a passerby. I shouldn’t have,”
The remarks made by Stephanopoulos coincide with a few days after the network carried an exclusive interview with Biden subsequent to the former president’s unsatisfactory debate performance against former President Trump, in which the latter was unable to talk intelligibly and merely stared off into space.
Democrats have begun to push on Biden to withdraw from the presidential campaign in response to his onstage performance, which has reignited questions about his age and mental capacity.
In the interview, the incumbent insisted he would pursue reelection and dismissed the disastrous debate as a “bad night.”
