On Thursday morning, Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC attacked the former president Barack Obama, accusing him of being behind George Clooney’s harsh New York Times op-ed in which he demanded that President Joe Biden be replaced as the Democratic nominee.
“This wasn’t George Clooney,” she declared.
“What do you mean?” her co-host and husband Joe Scarborough asked in response.
“It just wasn’t, come on,” she continued.
“Who do you think it was? Who do you think it was? You can say the name, you won’t melt. It’s not Voldemort. Are you saying you think Barack Obama put him up to this?” Scarborough asked seconds later in the discussion.
“I think that Barack Obama has a lot of influence, and I think that there’s, there’s a lot there.” she responded.
Obama apparently spoke with Clooney prior to the publication of his opinion piece, but in the weeks following his horrible debate performance, he has been openly supportive of Biden.
“The Biden campaign and many Democratic officials do believe that Barack Obama is quietly working behind the scenes to orchestrate this.” Scarborough had stated earlier in the program.
