HELP Trump Sink the Democrats [ACT NOW]
In the lead-up to the 2024 election, Meta reportedly said on Friday that it had taken down more restrictions from former President Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
“With the party conventions taking place shortly, including the Republican convention next week, the candidates for President of the United States will soon be formally nominated,” Meta noted in a new announcement.
“In assessing our responsibility to allow political expression, we believe that the American people should be able to hear from the nominees for President on the same basis,” it continued.
Following the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, Trump was barred from Meta platforms. His accounts were restored in January 2023, but the penalty for future violations were increased.
The parent corporation of Instagram and Facebook also modified its standard procedure for blocking public figure accounts during demonstrations.
