On Thursday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) reportedly visited the southern frontier of the United States and criticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their handling of illegal immigration.
Johnson specifically targeted the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee during a visit to the San Ysidro Port of Entry in San Diego, where he was accompanied by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA).
“This has become in many ways the epicenter of the Biden-Harris border catastrophe, and now we’re very concerned in Congress that this illegal immigrant invasion is threatening even the integrity of our elections,” Johnson claimed.
Johnson also urged Congress to enact new legislation to protect elections from non-citizen voting. In recent months, San Diego has been a hot location for unlawful crossings, with tens of thousands of migrants crossing into California.
He further stated that the Biden-Harris administration had “engineered” the “catastrophe” at the border.
“Border czar and San Francisco radical Kamala Harris bears the responsibility for this disaster.” he continued.
“And now we’ve all seen on our television screens, there’s yet another caravan of immigrants heading to the border to get in here. And of course they want to come in before the election because they believe there may be a good chance that President Trump wins that election. I certainly believe that and this won’t be tolerated any longer,” he concluded.
