McConnell Compares Biden’s Radical Supreme Court ‘Reforms’ to January 6th Attack

In an interview with Punchbowl News, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) likened President Biden’s suggested changes to the Supreme Court to the attacks on the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Along with a mandatory code of behavior, Biden has supported reforms that would allow a president to select a new justice every two years, such as 18-year term limits.

“That’s what some people were trying to do Jan. 6 — to break the system of handing an administration from one to the next. We can have our arguments, but we ought to not try to break the rules.” McConnell remarked in the interview.

“I couldn’t be more disappointed. This is a man who was chairman of the Judiciary Committee for a long time. He absolutely knows what he recommended is unconstitutional, to try to limit the terms of the Supreme Court justices who under the Constitution are appointed for life,” McConnell continued.

Earlier this week, McConnell declared that term restrictions in the legislative branch will be “dead on arrival.”

The radical left-wing scheme has been welcomed by Vice President Harris, whom Biden has endorsed for the presidency.
