On Wednesday, conservative commentator Megyn Kelly appeared to turn on Donald Trump for his preoccupation with conspiracy theories regarding crowd sizes, stating that they are “so stupid!” as one of her guests accused the former president of “spinning out” in recent weeks.
“Look, it’s across the board. He’s fallen in left-leaning polls, he’s fallen in right-leaning polls. This is reality, and the Trump team needs to deal with reality if it wants to win.” Kelly said.
“If Trump spends more time complaining about depictions of the crowd size at Kamala Harris rallies, that’s gonna really seal the deal for him. That’s gonna get the swing state voters.” Kelly’s guest Matt Welch said in response.
“So unsmart. So dumb! If you’re listening, audience, he’s [Trump] claiming that the crowds, the big crowds outside of her [Harris] airplane and elsewhere are AI-generated and it’s just, there’s just no proof of that. I mean, like, it was a conspiracy theory somebody started. There were all these other pictures from people who were actually there showed the huge- like are they all in on it? Like, everyone who showed up got an AI filter that they put on?” Kelly responded.
So stupid! Just focus on the damn border!” she continued.
Kelly then reviewed the surveys and conjectured that Trump may be facing difficulties in North Carolina, a state that he has won in both 2016 and 2020, as well as in the swing states he is attempting to turn around after losing in 2020.
