According to The New York Times, former President Donald Trump recently met with former Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard in anticipation of his upcoming debate with Vice President Kamala Harris in Philadelphia next month.
According to two individuals with knowledge of Mr. Trump’s schedule, the former President Donald J. Trump has initiated the preparation for his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. He has enlisted the assistance of former Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard to refine his attacks during a recent practice session at his private club and residence, Mar-a-Lago.
Ms. Gabbard, who rebranded herself as a major star among Trump’s base of support after leaving the Democratic Party after her 2020 presidential bid, has maintained a cordial relationship with Mr. Trump and was briefly considered as a potential running mate for him.
Trump’s campaign verified in a statement on Friday that the former Democrat lawmaker-turned-MAGA darling had spoken with Trump privately after she shared some notable moments with Harris onstage during a 2019 debate during the 2020 Democratic primary.
Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for Trump, verified that Gabbard and Trump had been in communication and further stated that the former Democratic presidential candidate had previously “dominated” Harris.
