After Fox News producer Johnny Belisario inquired as to why Vice President Kamala Harris declined to participate in a debate with former President Donald Trump on the network, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) responded with a chuckle.
Belisario inquired as he approached Pelosi’s golf cart at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week:
“Madam Speaker, how are you? Nice to meet you. Johnny from Fox. Should Kamala do a Fox debate?”
“Don’t make me laugh.” Pelosi said in response, between laughs.
“Why won’t she do it?” Belisario asked.
Pelosi remarked, “Debate a fox?”
“If she can’t do Fox, how is she going to face Putin?” Belisario inquired.
“I don’t see any equivalence in that statement.” Pelosi responded.
