One Cop Killed, Two Others Wounded in Wild Shootout in Dallas

On Thursday evening, a suspect who was subsequently shot dead by law enforcement shot and killed a Dallas Police Department officer and injured two others.

Fox News reported that Dallas police responded to an officer in distress at approximately 10:00 p.m. and discovered him shot in a marked squad vehicle.

At the site, police engaged in a gunfight with a suspect, resulting in the injuries of two additional officers, one of whom is currently in critical condition.

The suspect escaped in a vehicle and drove approximately 30 miles to Lewisville after shooting and killing the police officer.

The suspect was pursued by the responding officers, and the pursuit concluded with the suspect departing his vehicle with a long gun. Subsequently, the suspect was fatally shot by the police.

Darron Burks, 46, was identified by his family as the deceased Dallas officer on Friday.

The department has announced that the flags at its facilities will be flown at half-staff in honor of the deceased officer.

In retaliation for alleged racially biased policing, a far-left sniper killed five officers in Dallas on July 7, 2016, with the intention of killing as many white police officers as possible.

Eight additional Dallas Police Department officers have been killed in the course of duty since that time.
