Peter Doocy Corners Jean-Pierre Over Kamala’s Newfound Accent

The White House press secretary was questioned by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy on Tuesday regarding the sudden change in accent of Vice President Kamala Harris when speaking to specific audiences on the campaign trail.

Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, was accused of pandering online after she altered her dialect during her campaign in Detroit in comparison to her speech in Pittsburgh.

“Since when does the vice president have what sounds like a Southern accent?” Doocy asked.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. Do you think Americans seriously think this is an important question?” she said in response.

Jean-Pierre persisted in dismissing the question and posited that Americans are less concerned with Harris’ dialects than they are with the economy, which experienced record-high inflation in 2022 and continues to face challenges under the Biden-Harris administration.

“The question, just the question is insane,” Jean-Pierre concluded.

“Is that how she talks in meetings here?” Doocy shot back.

Observers on social media reported that she employed an accent that sounded “southern” in Detroit, while she consistently employed the same dialect in Pittsburgh.
