In an interview with co-host Steve Doocy on Tuesday’s Fox & Friends, Ian Sams, a spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris, discussed the potential for the candidate to appear on the program in the coming weeks.
On the same day as Harris’s first presidential debate with former President Donald Trump, Doocy and Sams had a passionate discussion regarding the disagreement over silenced microphones, a practice previously agreed upon when the Democratic candidate was President Joe Biden.
While their chat got a little heated at times, it was mostly amicable and finished with Doocy’s formal invitation for Harris to appear on Fox & Friends for an interview.
“So, she did that interview about a week or so ago with CNN, and she’s going to do the one debate that we know of. Is there any possibility — you know, you keep talking about Fox News viewers, she should come on Fox and speak to their concerns directly. And we’ve got a big couch here. It would be great to have her on the program. Ian? Come on. Invite her. Tell her I officially invited her on Fox & Friends.” Doocy said.
“That is very kind, and I will relay that to the Vice President for sure. And I know, you know, she’s talked at the White House a number of times to Peter Doocy and Jacqui Heinrich, you know, excellent reporters who are there at the White House. You know, she’s going to be doing more events across the country, hitting the campaign trail just later this week, going to North Carolina, going to Pennsylvania. She’s going to be doing more interviews. She’s going to be doing more events where she can engage directly with voters and talk to them.” Sams said in response.
“She shouldn’t be afraid of Fox & Friends! Well, bring her on Fox & Friends then! And, you know, if she can’t talk to us, God forbid how she deals with [Vladimir Putin].” Doocy remarked.
“We ain’t afraid of Fox & Friends! I’m sitting here talking to you right now. I’m enjoying it very much.” Sams said in conclusion.
