In the event that he is reelected, former President Trump is now promising to withhold federal aid to combat California wildfires unless Governor Gavin Newsom (D) alters a policy that safeguards an endangered species of fish.
Trump stated during a press conference that lasted approximately one hour at his golf club in the Los Angeles area on Friday that he would provide California with “more water than almost anybody has,” thereby enabling producers to utilize their land to the fullest if he were elected.
“And Gavin Newscum is gonna sign those papers, and if he doesn’t sign those papers, we won’t give him money to put all his fires,” Trump said.
“And if we don’t give him money to put out his fires, he’s got problems. He’s a lousy governor.” Trump added
As part of a broader critique of the state and its leaders, Trump, along with Vice President Harris, made the remarks regarding a variety of issues, such as the economy and the number of immigrants entering the state.
He endeavored to establish a connection between the current challenges that the state is confronting and Harris, who has previously held the positions of district attorney of San Francisco, attorney general of California, and U.S. senator for the state.
