This week, a video of Vice President Kamala Harris went viral, in which she claimed that police had the authority to enter the homes of individuals and examine their legally possessed firearms.
Harris apparently made this statement while serving as the district attorney of San Francisco.
During a press conference in 2007, the Democratic presidential nominee made the comments while discussing a law that she had assisted in drafting.

“We’re going to require responsible behaviors among everybody in the community, and just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn’t mean that we’re not going to walk into that home and check to see if you’re being responsible and safe in the way you conduct your affairs.” Harris says in the video.
The law Harris referenced later became law thanks to the signature of Gavin Newsom, who was then the Mayor of San Francisco.
