REPORT: Kamala Outspent Trump by Shocking 20 to 1 Margin During Debate Week

During the week of her debate against former President Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign inundated Meta platforms Facebook and Instagram with advertisements, outspending the Trump campaign 20 to 1.

According to Meta’s records, the Harris campaign spent $12.2 million on Facebook and Instagram in the week preceding the debate, as published by the New York Times on Friday.

Conversely, the Trump campaign spent $611,228, also as reported by Meta.

The Democratic nominee’s substantial social media advertising spending was concentrated on battleground states, particularly Michigan and Pennsylvania.

The Harris campaign allocated $1.5 million and $1.3 million to Meta’s social media platforms, respectively.

The Times reported that the Trump campaign spent only $34,790 in Michigan and $22,465 in Pennsylvania on Facebook and Instagram during the same period.

Harris’ campaign’s substantial fundraising advantage over Team Trump is a factor that influences her social media expenditures.

While the Trump campaign has raised $265 million, the Harris campaign has reported that it has raised nearly $500 million for the 2024 election.

Upon President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race, Democrats experienced an immediate increase in fundraising, as numerous Democratic donors expressed apprehension regarding Biden’s potential continuation of his 2024 campaign.

Harris also benefited from the transfer of the Biden campaign’s currency on hand into her campaign’s war chest after the president withdrew in July.

The Harris campaign has not invested any funds in advertising on the social media platform X, which was previously known as Twitter and is owned by Elon Musk.

Since Harris became the Democrats’ de-facto nominee, the Trump campaign has allocated $100,000 to X.
