Vice President Kamala Harris attempted to prevent Kimberly Guilfoyle from working for the San Francisco District Attorney’s office at one point earlier in both of their careers according to a new report.
For her part, Guilfoyle now believes that this incident serves as an example of Harris’ tendency to undermine other women.
Around the year 2000, Harris attempted to prevent Guilfoyle from obtaining a position in the San Francisco District Attorney’s office, as both women were ascending in California politics, according to a Monday New York Times report.
In an interview with The Daily Wire, Guilfoyle, who is currently engaged to Donald Trump Jr. and serves as a surrogate for the Trump campaign, stated that the incident exemplifies Harris’s relationship toward other women.
“The fact is that for decades Kamala Harris has turned public service into self-service. From her conduct at the San Francisco DA’s office all the way to the vice presidency, she’s tried to lift herself up by attempting to bring others down.” Guilfoyle said.
“She may talk about wanting to help other women, but reality tells a far different story. And it extends to her party’s entire platform. From efforts to destroy women’s sports to enabling a border invasion that has taken the lives of innocent girls, this is a candidate and an agenda laser-focused on undermining the lives of women across this country.” she added.
Harris attempted to prevent Guilfoyle from obtaining a position in the San Francisco District Attorney’s office in the year 2000, according to a report by SFGate.
Harris subsequently contacted Guilfoyle after obtaining her resume, according to the publication.
It was believed that both women were interested in the San Francisco District Attorney position, which Harris ultimately secured in 2004 and held until 2010.
Harris’ interference suggested that she did not wish for Guilfoyle to be a competitor in her field.
“She called me and said basically that she was on the hiring committee and in charge of the budget for the D.A.’s office, and that I should have gone through her if I wanted to return to the D.A.’s office — and that there was no money to hire me,” Guilfoyle said at the time, describing their interaction.
