CNN Host Claims Harris Headed for ‘Worst Democratic Performance in a Generation’ Among Key Voting Bloc

Harry Enten, a senior political data correspondent at CNN, has reportedly noted that Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to have the worst Democratic performance in a generation among union voters in November.

Enten noted in his Monday analysis that union members tend to vote for Democrats with a significantly higher percentage than Republicans.

For instance, former President Bill Clinton won this vote by 30 points.

“Sometimes there are data points that just jump off the screen, should set off sirens. Alright, this is union households. This is the Democratic margin in the presidential election. It ain‘t what it used to be,” Enten remarked.

“Bill Clinton won that union vote by 30 points. Hillary Clinton only won it by 12 points back in 2016. That was the lowest mark for a Democrat since 1984, Mondale vs. Reagan. But look at where Kamala Harris is today. She is only leading by nine points.” he continued.

Harris is currently leading union voters by nine points, according to Enten’s aggregate polling.

According to Enten, President Joe Biden maintained a 19-point advantage among union voters in 2020.

“That would be the worst Democratic performance in a generation. Ten points off the mark of Joe Biden, who of course won four years ago, was sort of that union guy, union Joe, right?”  he added.

Despite its historical support for Democrats for over two decades, the Teamsters union, which has over one million members, did not endorse a candidate in this election.

Enten stated that the demographics of union electors and those with vocational or trade school backgrounds have significantly changed since the 1990s.

According to Enten, Clinton led with these voters by seven points when running against late President George H.W. Bush, while former President Donald Trump is supported by trade school and vocational school graduates by a 31-point margin.
