MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle was ridiculed by Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance and others after she provided a fact check of Vance’s evidently hyperbolic statement regarding his children’s dietary habits.
When his two sons groped for eggs at a Pennsylvania grocery store this month, Vance discussed inflation and the increasing cost of food.
“Yes, buddy. Want some eggs? Let’s talk about eggs. Because these guys actually eat about 14 eggs every single morning. Is that right?” Vance said.

Ruhle interpreted this calculation literally.
“14 eggs per day. 98 eggs per week. 2 children consuming 8+ dozen eggs per week,” Ruhle wrote on her social media account.

Ruhle, who recently conducted an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, was derided by Vance for her overly serious approach to line comments.
“One time I said I was so tired I could sleep for days. Stephanie Ruhle: Vance, in fact, only slept for 8 hours,” Vance wrote in response.

Other conservative commentators also joined in the mockery:
Tm Walz lied about his military service and no can say for sure whether Harris worked at a McDonalds, but they'll fact check the most obvious hyperbole imaginable. https://t.co/oxr0y510YU
