During a new interview with Fox Business, former President Donald Trump did Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) no favors by stating that the senator is “a progressive” in what appeared to be part of a back-handed compliment.
Graham has been an unwavering advocate for Trump since the former president secured the Republican nomination in 2016.
While the former president has maintained a close relationship with Graham, it is evident that he has not ignored the senator’s initial opposition to him.
“If China charges us – on a car – 100%, we charge them on a car 100%. But you know, I have a certain senator named Lindsey Graham. And he’s not into this as much as he is other things. And he’s a nice guy, good guy. And you know, he cares. He loves the country even though he’s a progressive. That’s ok. These are minor details.” Trump said.
Trump discussed tariffs extensively during his interview with Fox Business, which aired on Friday, as he has previously pledged to do.
Additionally, he committed to enacting retaliatory tariffs against any nation that violates this agreement with the United States.
Graham, according to the former president, was uncertain about the specifics of tariffs.
