During an appearance on Theo Von’s podcast, Sean O’Brien, the President of the Teamsters Union, reportedly criticized the Democratic Party, claiming that the party had “fucked over” his union members.
He also disclosed that a recent meeting with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was “fucking ugly.”
This election cycle, the Teamsters caused a stir when O’Brien disclosed that the union, which has over one million members, would not be supporting former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris.
This marks the first time since 1996 that the organization has refrained from issuing a presidential endorsement.
O’Brien participated in the ‘This Past Weekend’ podcast with comedian Von, during which he was forthright about his organization’s longstanding support for Democrats.
“I’ll be honest with you, I’m a Democrat but they have fucked us over for the last 40 years and for once, and not all of them, but for once, we’re standing up as a union, probably the only one right now saying, what the fuck have you done for us? And I’m getting attacked from the left and we’ve given since I’ve been in office two and a half years, we’ve given the Democratic machine $15.7 million.” O’Brien said.
“We’ve given Republicans about $340,000, truth be told. So, it’s like, you know, people say the Democratic Party is the party of the working people; they’re bought and paid for Big Tech, those Big Tech companies.” he continued.
A number of polls conducted among members indicated a nearly even divide, with a significant number of them supporting Trump in the forthcoming election, according to the union president.
