Report: Biden Expediting $6 Billion In Ukraine Aid Before Trump Takes Office

President Joe Biden is reportedly attempting to expedite $6 billion in security aid to Ukraine before President-elect Donald Trump returns to the White House.

According to Politico, which cites two sources from the administration, Trump’s administration might be able to halt the delivery of munitions and equipment before they reach Ukraine, due to the amount of time it takes to send them.

Since Russian President Vladimir Putin’s military invasion in February 2022, the U.S. has been a significant supporter of Ukraine. Trump has criticized the Biden administration for its substantial financial assistance to Ukraine, pointing out that Europe has collectively matched only what the United States has provided.

For months, Trump has claimed he would broker an end to the conflict before reclaiming the Oval Office.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was quick to convey his congratulations to Trump after his landslide victory over Vice Presdient Kamala Harris.

Zelenskiy expressed optimism for a “strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership,” stating his belief in Trump’s “peace through strength” strategy. Zelenskiy hopes this principle will bring peace to Ukraine, mentioning his eagerness to work alongside Trump.

In a post on X, Zelenskiy informed his followers of a call with Trump, pledging continued collaboration.

“We agreed to maintain close dialogue and advance our cooperation,” he wrote, highlighting the importance of unwavering U.S. leadership for global stability and peace.

Biden plans to address the nation for the first time since Trump’s 2024 election victory on Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Rose Garden, though Vice President Harris is not expected to join.

Biden also reached out to Trump on Wednesday to congratulate him and demonstrate his commitment to a smooth transition, with Trump’s campaign indicating his anticipation for meeting Biden.
