Far-Left Activists Arrested While Trying to Disrupt Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

On Thursday, around twenty individuals were taken into custody by the New York City Police Department when anti-Israel demonstrators attempted to obstruct the 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

By jumping in front of the Ronald McDonald balloon, protesters were able to halt the parade and prevent it from continuing.

This occurred before the police in the vicinity arrived and arrested the protesters.

There were videos of the demonstration that were shared on social media platforms.

The videos showed demonstrators lined up across the street with a banner that read “Don’t celebrate genocide” and demanded a weapons embargo against the Jewish state.

It is possible to hear the protesters yelling words like “free, free Palestine.”

Those who are watching the parade may be heard yelling “U.S.A!” in response.

It is possible to hear the audience cheering as the police moved in to arrest the people who were protesting.

The disruption delayed the parade for about five minutes.

Formal charges against the protesters arrested are still pending.

New York City Democratic Mayor Eric Adams warned against protesting the parade on Wednesday.

Last year, a group of protesters were arrested at the Macy’s parade after they jumped over barricades and glued their hands to asphalt in the middle of the parade route.

Protests against Israel picked up after October 7, 2023, when the militant group Hamas launched a surprise attack against Israel, killing roughly 1,200 people and taking hundreds more captive. About 100 captives are still believed to be held by Hamas.

Israel then launched its own brutal war against Hamas in Gaza and has since faced pressure over what many claim is it’s flagrant disregard for human life and its policy of using high explosive ordinance in areas where thousands of civilians are present.
