In an analysis post that was published on Wednesday, Chuck Todd of NBC reportedly referred to the decision made by President Biden to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, as “a huge mistake by the president.”
According to Todd, the decision made by President Biden made sense from a parental standpoint, but it was not advantageous for the country.
“Biden made a huge mistake, and it really is going to make a lot of people question everything they thought they understood about him in public service,” the ‘Meet the Press’ moderator announced.
“Joe Biden had a choice between what was best for himself and his personal conscience and abiding by the oath he took as president. And he may have done what was best for his family, but he did not do what was in the best interest of the nation,” he added.
Despite having said for a long time that he would not pardon his son among his many legal issues, Vice President Biden granted Hunter a pardon in advance of sentencing hearings in both his tax and gun cases that are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.
The decision has the potential to cast a shadow over the legacy of the president, who is currently under investigation from both the Democratic and Republican sides of the political spectrum.
It was in a statement that was posted on Sunday that he made the argument that Hunter had been targeted for political purposes.
The rhetoric of Vice President Joe Biden, according to Todd’s essay, is similar to that of President-elect Donald Trump, who has often asserted that Democrats and the Justice Department have unfairly targeted him.
