During a congressional hearing, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy covered his ears as Representative Rich McCormick (R-Ga.) continually grilled him on the subject of oversight of the Postal Service.
During a hearing held by the House Oversight and Accountability Committee on Tuesday, McCormick informed DeJoy that he does not receive a “A grade” when it comes to his leadership of the United States Postal Service.
“You were graded by the United States people, and they don’t use your service anymore,” McCormick remarked.
“That is not true. Our office is growing.” Dejoy tried to claim.
“You are responsible for the fall of the Postal Service and the lack of accountability. This Congress is responsible for it falling apart. I am trying to fix the Postal Service.” McCormick said.
“You’re talking to yourself” DeJoy said to McCormick while covering his ears.

This back-and-forth comes as a result of continuing criticism from election officials regarding the manner in which the agency handles ballots that are mailed in.
According to earlier statements made by DeJoy, it is incorrect to imply that ballots might be misplaced.
Also according to DeJoy, there are certain election officials who do not comprehend the efforts that the Postal Service is doing to turn around mail during election season.
However, he stated that the agency would be able to handle the situation.
In addition, DeJoy has made an effort to disprove prior assertions made by President-elect Trump regarding the use of mail-in ballots, despite the fact that the Republican Party looked to be more receptive to the voting technique during this election cycle than it was during past seasons.
While DeJoy was getting ready to handle all of the mail that was related to the election, he stated earlier this year that the agency was in great shape in comparison to the year 2020.
