According to statements made by President-elect Trump on Sunday, Katie Miller, who served in the administration that Trump had previously held, will be joining the inaugural “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE).
DOGE is a new advisory board that will be led by Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk, and its primary objective is to reduce unnecessary government expenditure and regulations.
In addition, Miller is married to Stephen Miller, who will soon be the deputy chief of staff. Stephen Miller has been a longstanding supporter and ally of Trump.
“Katie Miller will soon be joining DOGE! She has been a loyal supporter of mine for many years, and will bring her professional experience to Government Efficiency,” Trump wrote in a new post on his Truth Social platform.
“Katie is a deeply experienced communications professional respected by all. Congratulations to Stephen and Katie!” he added.
Miller worked as the press secretary for former Vice President Mike Pence and also held the position of deputy press secretary for the Department of Homeland Security during the first term of President Trump.
Her previous employers include former Senator Martha McSally of Arizona, who served as her communications director, and Senator Steve Daines of Montana, who served as his press secretary.
