The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Turner (R-Ohio), stated over the weekend in a new interview that there are terrorists affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) who are now in the United States and who managed to enter the nation illegally through the porous southern border.
During an interview with Margaret Brennan on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday, Turner made these remarks while discussing the risks that the United States of America is facing in the wake of the terrorist assault that was carried out by ISIS in the United States the previous week.
When asked about potential terror threats, Turns stated that there are “individuals that are affiliated with ISIS and terrorist groups and organizations that have crossed the border, that are inside the United States.”
“FBI Director Wray has said so, we certainly have intelligence that says so, I agree with his assessment. He’s testified before our committee publicly of that fact. Those individuals are working in conjunction with ISIS, with the intention of harming Americans. The director has said it directly.” he continued.
Chairman @RepMikeTurner to @MargBrennan on @FaceTheNation about the threat of ISIS members operating inside America:

According to him, the United States is concerned about two distinct types of terrorists: those who are radicalized online within the United States, and those who are already terrorists and are entering the United States despite their radicalization.
“We do not know where they are. And part of the work and part of the reason why [Wray is] raising the alarm is we need to find them to protect Americans.” he concluded.
