Actor Mel Gibson and podcaster Joe Rogan reportedly criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) over the recent wildfires in the Golden State.
“It’s all funny. And then I think all our tax dollars probably went for Gavin’s hair gel. I don’t know but it’s like, you know, it’s sad, it’s like — the place is just on fire.” Gibson said during the podcast.
“Well, the whole state is just so poorly managed. … It’s so frustrating and confusing, and then he gets on TV and pretends like everything’s great. ‘California’s the best, we have the best state, we have the most amazing economy,’ and like, you’re outta your f—ing mind dude, you’ve ruined this state,” Rogan said, mocking Newsom.
The Los Angeles area has been devastated by the numerous wildfires that have been raging there in recent days. Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Deanne Criswell stated on CNN Thursday that the Eaton and Pacific Palisades fires have damaged or destroyed over 1,000 buildings.
In addition to causing havoc, the fires have sparked a political dispute between Newsom and President-elect Trump.
Trump attacked Newsom on Wednesday for failing to sign a declaration to pump more water through the Golden State in order to prevent the fires that were burning across the Los Angeles area, according to the president-elect.
